Face lifting – face tightening (rhytidectomy)

A surgical procedure to lift the facial muscles, remove excess skin and remove stronger wrinkles on the face.

The age most considered suitable for performing this operation in most people is after the age of 40.

  • The first and most noticeable sign of a relaxed face is the loss of a clear line of the skin of the lower jaw followed by the formation of pads and underarms as well as
  • Loss of solid border between lower jaw and neck.
  • The next sign is a deepening of the nasolabial wrinkles (wrinkles between the nose and the corners of the lips) and
Lowering the corners of the lips
  • More or less face and neck wrinkles are a sure sign that it’s time for a lift.

The durability of face-lift depends on the surgical technique as well as the individual characteristics of the patient (age, quality of the skin and subcutaneous tissue).

The so-called SMAS-face lifting, reinsertion and lifting are performed, not just removing excess skin. This way we can rejuvenate a person for at least ten years with a longer-lasting effect.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and requires 2 days of hospitalization. The bandage is worn for about 3-4 days after which a special elastic mask is applied.

The threads are removed about the 12th day after surgery.

Facial tightening is generally combined with tightening of the forehead, eyelids and neck.
