Breast Augmentation – Application of silicone implants
This is certainly one of the most common operations. It can be used from the age of 18.
The procedure consists in the application of silicone implants that can be placed under glandular tissue or the large pectoralis muscle. The approach itself can be inframammary (which is the most common), periareolar (around the areola) or transaxillary (through the armpit). The choice depends on the wishes of the patient, the constitution as well as the desired effect desired. The length of the cut is about 3-5 cm and after a few months, it is visible only in the form of a thin line. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The most intense pain after surgery is in the first 2-3 days that can be taken with oral analgesics. The patient is discharged from the hospital after 24 hours, and sometimes earlier. The threads are removed around day 12 by which time the islands last. For the first month it is recommended to wear a special bra daily. After removing the threads, patients can fully return to their daily activities and sometimes after seven days.
After this surgery, the function of the mammary gland is preserved, and these expectant mothers can breastfeed normally. The mere presence of implants does not impede diagnostic methods such as mammography or Rtg, and does not cause breast cancer, which is scientifically proven and slows down the descent of the breast.
Complications: They are very rare, but the implants are foreign tissue, so in a small percentage there is a possibility of reaction and rejection, which is manifested by redness, pain, enlargement, and sometimes prolonged leakage. Extremely rare with hardness and asymmetry. Then the implants must be removed.
Tip: Make sure you follow all the tips your doctor recommends.
